What makes Europe tick?
With over 30,000 respondents in 18 countries, the COCOPS Europe-wide survey of high-ranking civil servants within EU member states is still Europe’s largest-ever scientific survey of public sector management.
Situation The Hertie School of Governance’s main project task was to create, coordinate, and execute a Europe-wide survey of high-ranking managers in the public sector. The goal was to find out what the management reforms implemented in the last few years have achieved, and what must be improved in the future, in order to enhance the competitiveness of the EU through better management performance.
Solution To complete the project, the Hertie School of Governance worked together with nine partner universities across multiple European countries. This helped to ensure that the questionnaire content would be relevant for each country, and that the participation of key people would be maximized. The survey was executed using EFS survey from QuestBack Unipark.
Results The Hertie School of Governance selected QuestBack Unipark’s feedback software solution because it fulfilled all the project’s complex management requirements. The ease-of-use of the system simplified project execution in terms of: real time monitoring of the responses from different countries; automated reminders; and in particular, the ability to assign rights and roles to project team members. This functionality was essential in enabling local teams to work independently within a project being managed by people across multiple European countries. Because the data security topic was a high priority with the context of this study, the fact that QuestBack’s BSI-certified data center in Bremen met all the security requirements of the ISO 27001 standard was also a decisive factor in the selection of QuestBack’s software.
What is most important to an IKEA customer?
A cooperation between IKEA Germany and the Mario Rese-inspired Sales and Marketing Department
Situation In order to assess the increasing significance of Corporate Social Responsibility, and to form a scientific basis for strategic decisions, IKEA wanted to faster the following question: how are different CSR strategies and the communication of various measures perceived and valued?
Solution To ensure the execution of such a comprehensive survey without any technical problems, and to meet the methodological requirements, QuestBack’s EFS Survey software was selected for the project. In total, more than 1.3 million people were surveyed.
Results The survey produced important insights in terms of both research and practical applications. Employee engagement was identified by respondents as the most important CSR measure. This was an area that the company had only rarely communicated about to its customers. Philanthropic measures were rated as least important – precisely the activities that are usually the focus of CSR communications. Generally, there was a strong customer interest in corporate social responsibility and, based on the results of the survey, important insights and success factors for an optimal CSR communication strategy were identified.
